Dear Competitor,

Your entry has been accepted for Round 3 of the Swann Insurance Australasian Superbike Championship & Round 3 Australian FX-Superbike to be held at Sydney Motorsport Park on 26th, 27th & 28th June on the condition that you accept and agree to abide by both the Supplementary Regulations and the following numbered instructions and conditions in these Final Instructions as well as the class technical rules that you’re competing in. If you do not agree to accept and abide by the Supplementary Regulations and these Final Instructions and the class rules you’re competing in then please notify ARTRP in writing by fax of your withdrawal by 5pm Wednesday 24th June.  Your race number is included in the rider listing posted on the official website www.fxsuperbikes.com.au

1.        CIRCUIT, GARAGE ACCESS & GATE CLOSURE:
Competitors with large transporters over 10 metres in length will be able to gain access to the circuit and pit area from 5:30pm to 5.45pm.
All other competitors from 5.45pm – 9.00pm.
The circuit will be closed at 9.30 pm Thursday at which time all persons must have left the circuit.
If you are in a shared garage please do not place your own lock on the garage as it makes it difficult for your fellow competitor to access the garage. Garages will be locked and unlocked by the circuit staff
Gates will open at 6.30am Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Please note that ARTRP and Sydney Motorsport Park do not take responsibility for any property left at the circuit.

2.        SIGN ON, COLLECTION OF PASSES and TIMING TRANSMITTER:
Sign on and collection of passes and timing transmitter will be available from the Race Secretary’s office located in the base of the control tower from Friday which will be open from 6.45am.
Competitors must present their competition licence to sign on and collect passes. All passes must be presented to the gate keepers from Saturday.
All classes will be timed at this event with AMB Electronic Timing System. A refundable security deposit of $50 CASH/CREDIT CARD will be required when the units are issued.  If a timing transmitter is lost, or severely damaged, the competitor will be required to pay the replacement cost.
Transmitters must be fitted to the machine prior to the first practice session. If a transmitter is not fitted during any session, the competitor will be black-flagged.
The wireless/laptop system which enables you to receive both lap times and race results live will be available at this event, for more information regarding the wireless please see the timing bulletin posted at the Race Office. Bring along your TV and aerial cable to receive race results and lap times in your garage. Timing results will be available from the Race Secretary’s office. If a competitor has more than one machine then it is their responsibility to make sure that they move the timing transmitter from machine to machine or alternatively hire an extra transmitter.
There is a cost of $20 per extra timing transmitter.

3.        GARAGE ALLOCATION:
Garaging has been allocated as per the 2015 Series Supplementary Regulations (Point 28). Garaging allocation will be announced on the www.aus-superbikes.com.au website. Locking and unlocking of garages is the responsibility of ARTRP unless other prior arrangement is made with the Race Secretary. At Sydney Motorsport Park we have allocated a maximum number of four bikes per garage so each competitor has a reasonable amount of room for their bikes and gear. On that basis no other bikes or riders are to be fitted in any garage without written permission from ARTRP which will only happen after consultation with all other riders in that garage. ARTRP reserves the right to refuse a request.  Any competitor wishing to use a carport for garaging or any self- contained trailer etc are asked to register with the race office so we know where each competitor is if we need to contact them for any reason during the meeting.

4.        VEHICLE PARKING:
Vehicles must not be parked in or stop for any length of time in an area that partially obstructs a fire access lane or Ambulance clearway. Penalties for breaches of the parking restrictions will be at the discretion of the Clerk Of Course. If required competitors and or their team members will be required to park their vehicles were instructed to by either ARTRP & Sydney Motorsport Park Motor Racing Circuit personnel or by ARTRP appointed Officials.

5.        RIDER NUMBERS / NUMBER PLATES:
Please refer to 2015 Series Supplementary Regulations (Point 36) and or if relevant the various Formula Xtreme Pty Ltd owned rules for Formula Xtreme based classes. Race Numbers are available at the race office.

6.        GEAR AND MACHINE SCRUTINEERING:
Prior to scrutineering, all riders must attend Race Secretary’s office. All paperwork must be completed before any machine will be allowed on the circuit. With regard to any entrant or competitor who has not paid all appropriate fees prior to Friday 26th June 2015 the machine concerned will not be passed by the scrutineers until such time as the fees have been paid.

7.       Machine Scrutineering: for this round we are trialling a different machine scrutineering format. It is only for competitors who have filled out a series entry form and taken part in at least one round so far this year. A list of those riders will be available on the website by 5:00pm today. If your name appears on the list do not take your bike to scrutineering unless you would like the scrutineers to check it over prior to going on track.

Series Entry Form Competitors – Targeted Machine Scrutineering: This is for Competitors’ who have completed a series entry form and have taken part in either rounds one or two this year. Series competitors will be required to ensure that their machine(s) are in good working order and meet the mechanical requirements listed in the Updated Targeted Scrutineering Check List which will be emailed out to each series entry competitor and be available in the competitor section of www.fxsuperbikes.com.au.
The competitor while checking their machine is to complete the checklist. The completed checklist is to be presented to the Race Office when the competitor signs on first thing on Friday Morning.
Series Competitors machines will be randomly checked by mobile scrutineers over the three days of the event and possibly multiple times.
Scrutineers when checking machines may ask the competitor to remove body work to check various items on the check list. Once a bike passes it will have a Series sticker fitted to show when and who checked it. These examinations will be timed so as to have the least impact on riders preparing to take part in a session or race.
60% of series machines at each event will be checked and again 10% will be rechecked over the three days of each round.
Riding gear examination from 7am (no time slot restriction): All competitors must present their riding gear to Scrutineering for checking prior to their first practice session.

Round Entry Form Competitors –
Please refer to 2015 Series Supplementary Regulations (Point 32).

Competitors are to present to the scrutineers the completed Pre-Scrutineering check lists (which will be in the competitor’s envelope at sign on) when presenting their machines for scrutineering.

Machines must be submitted for scrutineering with the lower fairing removed and carried separately. Engines cold, radiator caps must be removed, belly pans off and water no coolant must be in radiator ready for scrutineering inspection.

Scrutineering of machines must occur prior to your first practice session by an accredited Scrutineer. Scrutineers will recheck approximately 10% of these bikes over the three days of the round.

Allocated scrutineering schedule for Friday morning: Please note this is for non-series entries only:
Machines entered into the specific class time slot will be given priority and have the right to go ahead of any non-scheduled competitor.
7.00 – 7.45       Race Tech Formula Oz
7.35 – 8.10       Kawasaki Insurances Ninja FX300, eFXC
8.15 – 8.35       Riders & Team Manager’s Briefing in Hinxman Room located above garage 1
8.40 – 9.00       Ipone Superbike
9.00 – 9.35       YRD Supersport
9.35 – 10.00     AMCN FX Pro-Twins, Nakedbike
10.00 – 10.35   Formula Xtreme C&D

Riding gear examination from 7am (no time slot restriction): All competitors both local and series must present their riding gear to Scrutineering for checking prior to their first practice session.

Crashed Bikes: If any motorcycle is crashed and whether it is transported or ridden back to the pits the competitor is to required to reporte directly to the scrutineers when the rider comes off of the track. It is the riders’ responsibility to have their machines checked over by scrutineers and passed before taking it back out onto the track.

8.        TYRE MARKING: *Please note the changes for this round on to tyre marking as explained below.
Tyre marking with the provided tyre identification stickers of tyres is compulsory for the following classes; Ipone Superbike, YRD Supersport, AMCN FX Pro-Twins F1, Nakedbike F1, Kawasaki Insurances Ninja FX300 and Formula Xtreme C&D competitors.

Friday and Saturday’s Tyre marking stickers will be attached to competitors’ ticket envelope and will be collected when they sign on at the Race Office. Please ensure the tyre stickers are applied according to the Series Sup regs pt 12.3 – 12.7.
Sunday’s Tyre marking stickers is to be collected from the Race Office on Sunday morning.

9.        RIDERS’ & TEAM MANAGERS BRIEFING: 8.15am Friday, Saturday & Sunday
As per 2015 Series Supplementary Regulations (Point. 24) will be held in the Hinxman Room located above garage 1.

10.     WITHDRAWALS:
A rider’s entry fee will be refunded only if the rider notifies the Race Secretary of their withdrawal from the Event, in writing, no later than close of business on Wednesday 24th June 2015 and upon receipt of a medical certificate.

11.     NOTIFICATION OF CHANGES (withdrawals, class etc) DURING THE EVENT:
Withdrawals or application for changes eg change of rider, class or machine during the event must be in writing. Forms are available from the Race Secretary.

12.     GRID POSITIONS:
As Per 2015 Series Supplementary Regulations (Point 23).

13.     FUEL:
For safety reasons, the maximum amount of fuel to be stored is 200 litres per garage.

14.     ELECTRICAL POWER:
Whilst all paddock garages fitted with power points, the use of high demand items such as tyre warmers, battery chargers and hot water urns may result in the circuit breakers interrupting the power supply. Should you require a high and regular power output, it is highly recommended that arrangements be made to bring or hire a generator. Noise restrictions also apply to generators and excessively noisy units will be banned from use at this event.

All electrical leads, air lines, water hoses etc. are to be positioned a minimum of 2.4metres above the ground.

At the rear of each garage there is a black steel ‘T’ bracket attached to the structural girder specifically for the purpose of attaching lines to the building.

Under no circumstances is anything to be attached or laid upon the cable trays or its supports.

As per” Workcover” guidelines for the management of potential trip hazards; every line external of the garage/carport (for example; areas where there is potential for pedestrian traffic) need to be off the ground or enclosed in “Australian Standards Approved” protective cable/hose mats.
Power leads must not be run along the ground. People who do so run the risk of large fines and possible exclusion from the event.

15.     PADDOCK ARRANGEMENTS:

If you intend to bring a tent in which to work on your machine, it must be either freestanding or secured by concrete blocks. Under no circumstances are holes to be drilled into the ground.

16.     PIT LANE and PIT BOARD ACCESS:
Pit Lane is a part of the race track. At Sydney Motorsport Park Pit Lane is Two lanes wide. There is a speed limit of 40 km ph in Pit Lane in the fast lane which is the lane closest to the race track. The slow lane is directly in front of the garages and has a six km ph speed limit. The only vehicles motorised or non-motorised allowed in pit lane are scrutineered race bikes, recovery or medical vehicles. No push bikes, skate boards or scooters are allowed in pit lane. Pit lane is single direction only motorcycles cannot be ridden in pit lane in the wrong direction. Unless instructed to by a senior event official.

Pit Board Access area will be notified in Rider’s Briefing.

17.     PIT PADDOCK AREA:
There is a speed limit of no more than six kilometres per hour in the Pit Paddock Area. Six kph is equal to walking pace and all bikes must be in first gear. Riding of unregistered pit bikes is prohibited in the pits or the property. Only registered Pit bikes are allowed and can only be ridden by riders with a current RTA motorcycle license. All riders, whether they be on Motorbikes, Scooters or Push bikes must wear a crash helmet at all times when riding.  To avoid possible penalties and unpleasantness, please always obey these basic safety rules.

18.     PRESENTATION OF ROUND TROPHIES:
All riders and officials are invited to a free BBQ and drinks on Saturday and Sunday approx. 30 minutes after racing concludes at the Scrutineering Bay for the presentation of trophies for Round 3.

19.     POST RACE INTERVIEW:
Riders who place 1st, 2nd or 3rd for each race on Saturday and Sunday are required to be at the interview area at the conclusion of their race. Location of interview area will be notified at Riders Briefing. Please make sure that you have team members who are in attendance with race stands for your bike.

20.     EVENT SPONSORS STICKERS:
Event Sponsor stickers will be applied onto your machine by a Scrutineering official prior to your machine being passed by Scrutineering. These event sponsor stickers must be on your machine for the duration of the whole event. If you need to change the body work that the bike was scrutineered with or remove the stickers, replacement stickers will be available at scrutineering and are to be applied prior to your next session or race. The replacement stickers must be applied in the same position as they were when the machine passed scrutineering. If sponsor stickers are not displayed or are not in the correct position then bikes may not be permitted onto the track or may be black flagged during the session or race.

21.     PENALTIES FOR NOT HAVING OR CORRECTLY PLACING SPONSORS STICKERS.
As per Series Supplementary Regulations (Point 6) for all details relating to this point.

22.     CIRCUIT CAMPING:
There is no camping at Sydney Motorsport Park.

23.     TRACK INSPECTION:   from 7.15am – 8.00am
As per 2015 Series Supplementary Regulations (Point 26).

24.     DISPOSAL OF FUEL, OIL & TYRES:
No waste of any kind is to enter the stormwater drains located in the paddock area. A number of 205 litre drums have been provided adjacent to the rear doors of the pit garages to accept waste oil and other fluid waste. They are not for disposal or for used bike parts, e.g. oil filters. Used bike tyres cannot be left in carports, garages or in the paddock area.  Any rider found to have left tyres in the garages or in the paddock area will be invoiced for their disposal plus costs.

25.     MACHINE IMPOUND
The area set aside for machine impound will be announced at riders briefing. Please make sure that you have the appropriate stands in the Impound area at the end your session. No tools, equipment, computers or mobile phones are to be in the impound area unless instructed by the scrutineer. Please note your pit crew must wear the armband for both Saturday and Sunday to access this area, the armband will be in your envelope ready for collection when you sign on.

Ipone Superbike, Supersport, Kawasaki Insurances Ninja FX300 class after Saturday’s final race and Sunday’s final race will be held for approximately thirty minutes, if you intend to protest another rider in your class please make the Chief scrutineer aware of this within the time frame.
FX Pro-Twins & Nakedbike, Formula Xtreme C&D will have bikes held for approximately ten minutes Saturday’s final race and Sunday’s final race, if you intend to protest another rider in your class please make the Series Chief Scrutineer aware of this within the ten minute time frame.

26.     EXTRA FUEL REQUIREMENTS:
All competitors are required to carry enough fuel for an extra three-laps on top of their usual race distance fuel load. This is to prevent further delays in the event of a race restart. Competitors will be able to return to the start line without the need to refuel. Any riders who don’t carry the extra fuel and re-fuel during a race stoppage will be required to start the race from pit lane.

27.     QUALIFYING SESSION LENGTHS:
Qualifying times have been altered to 15 minute sessions.

28.     SIGHTING & WARM UP LAPS:
The Ipone Superbike class will have separate sighting and warm up laps, all other classes will have 2 consecutive laps.

Umbrella persons will be allowed on the track for the Ipone Superbike sighting lap.

All Umbrella persons must register and sign on in the Race Secretary’s Office on Sunday morning by 10 am and be issued an armband to be permitted on track.

29.     WEAVING & PRACTICE STARTS ON WARM UP LAPS
There will be no practice starts anywhere on the track at any time or weaving during the warm up or sighting laps. Failure to comply with this rule could lead to penalties including exclusion from the race for repeat offenders or for dangerous behaviour.

30.     CAMERA DRONE
A CASA approved pilot will fly an unmanned camera drone at this event on Sunday. The drone will be filming the event for the television coverage.

31.     Competitors need to read the latest Series Supplementary Rules and Further Regulations in conjunction with these Final Instructions.
